I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus. From 2020 to 2024, I was National Program Director of International Relations for the School of Social Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
My research examines how business-state configurations shape industrial transformation in middle-income economies, with particular attention to the political economy of technological and green transitions in Latin America. I investigate why some countries successfully leverage foreign investment and state intervention for economic upgrading while others experience capture or stagnation. My work has been published in Business and Politics, Regulation and Governance, and the Journal of Law and Courts.
I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California where I was a Fulbright-García Robles scholar. I also earned an M.A. in International Affairs from the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University and a B.A. in International Relations (magna cum laude) from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
